Like father like son...

Orion (our oldest son) disappeared for a while, and when we went to find him-- he's there sitting quietly on the kitchen table next to Al's new painting, drawing a replica of it. It was so cute, we had to take a pic! He even signed it with his initials "OCM" for Orion Che Montoya.

And yes, he was named after Ernesto Che Guevara.

Love from Cincinnati. Ohio!

What I thought was a very small order of accessories and an "RP" logo on vinyl for our truck.. turned into one of the best packages filled with assorted surprises that we've ever received!!

Thank you to my awesome friend Paula who put together all these goodies for the Montoyas! Paula runs and owns "Express Service Signs and Shirts", and specializes in anything and (almost) everything vinyl. If you need quality shirts, stickers, signs made.. be sure to check her out!

GRIPPOS! Chips, which I've been told is a Cincinnati staple!

Amazing.

Custom RP Shirts for the kids, onesies for Orion.. and assorted RP Vinyl!

RP x OTP Tote bags!

Starwars x Brass knuckle tee's for the kids. Hell yeah.

....Also, I am very honored, not only to have a custom vinyl piece of artwork from Paula Goodman herself.. but because it's a tribute to our late family pet Valentine. This beautiful piece is made of 5 layers of vinyl constructed on a piece of aluminum. This photo really doesn't do this piece justice.

And here is the original..

Paula has several sites, including an etsy page.. so be sure to check it out!

ETF! A special public announcement..

From downsizedc.org:

"The Federal Reserve System constantly inflates and deflates the supply of money and credit, causing booms and busts. It's time to get off this roller-coaster. It's time to end the Fed."

I'm sure only a handful of people are aware about the movement "End The Fed" so we'd like you all to check out their website to educate yourself about the corruption behind the Federal Reserve and their link to our "economic crisis." What if someone told you it was all artificially engineered global bankruptcy?

Visit end the fed here!

From the pages of our sketchbooks...

Albert drew this while on the plane home from Maui.. aloha!

TATTOO CONVENTION - 09

The 2009 Art & Ink tattoo convention was over a month ago and we lagged getting a few pics up... but here are a couple to browse through anyway!

Our kids dig tattoos, as you can tell.. Ali is stoked.

Cultura y Mas!

The convention was smaller than we expected but it was pretty cool and we all had a good time. Our favorite booth would have to be by Cultura y Mas, a husband and wife duo that sold shirts, artwork, accessories and all kinds of Mexican culture inspired goodies..... think along the lines of Che and Dia de Los Muertos. I wanted pretty much everything, but I managed to leave with a calavera screen printed tote, and Albert with some vinyl stickers. Check our their website!

Till next year!

The Illazillas started their tour on friday 3.6.09, making their first stop in New York at the APW Gallery in Queens.. then traveling to other cities including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Oahu. So! if you're in the area, I suggest stopping by and checking out dozens of these amazing little Illazillas designed by tons of very talented artists around the globe.

Roxy's Inspiration, PT I

I love books, more specifically old.. antique children's books.. and even MORE specifically... Little Golden books. It's a hobby I have... where I frequent my favorite thrift shops and used book stores at least once a week to search for another awesome book.

I often use these books for inspiration while I paint, to read to the kids, or some are cool just to have. But sometimes I come across some amazing books that I swear could never be published today. For example, my latest finds--

Foreal??

here's poor Moe, smoking a cancer stick. =(.

And our new favorite that I like to read to my oldest..
(I edit out the violence though!)

Freaking amazing! Remember kids.. ALL BULLIES ARE COWARDS!

Alchemise 3.6.9

THANK YOU! To everyone who rolled through the Alchemise show on friday. It was awesome and we enjoyed hanging out with everyone as well as being downtown! We haven't showed at First Friday for a while, so.. seeing familiar faces and other great artwork all around was nice!

BIG THANKS! To Mike & Dasha Biggs of the Biggs Gallery and to our fantastic magicians Dustin & Sarah (who seriously gave me a headache from trying to figure out how their amazing tricks were done, ha!)

Till next time everyone!
